I have to say, my clients are THE BEST! 2019 was a fantastic year and I’m so blessed to have so many supportive clients who become dear friends, and the long time dearest of friends that choose JBPD, LLC. every year for their portraits. Looking back on 2019 I can’t help but get all fuzzy warm and thankful.
Whether you referred someone to me for portrait sessions, requested design work, purchased from the shop on Etsy, visited an exhibit where my photography was displayed, loyally return every year for images, mentioned my name to someone who was searching for a photographer, passed along a business card, attended a promotional event with JBPD LLC, purchased an image from the online art gallery, forwarded emails regarding art shows, shared a mini session announcement, requested custom invitations, baked a recipe showcased on the website, requested to purchase an image viewed at an art show, commented-liked-shared a facebook post, or allowed me to capture your family’s images for the first time, THANK YOU. So so much.
Every session, every print, every invitation created, every art show, every business card and facebook post have a piece of my heart attached.
Thank you for allowing me to follow my passion.
I’m also so grateful to be deemed trustworthy with local law enforcement families who hold portraits sessions with JBPD. Nothing is more important than keeping our LEO’s and their families safe because they work so hard to keep us safe – and that includes their online privacy. It is understandable why these families wouldn’t want their children(s) anywhere online with the parent(s) name and image associated with it. I’m so honored to keep their wishes and be given the opportunity to do so.
On a personal note, 2019 was a year of stepping into myself…so to speak. Years 2016-2018 were extremely hard and almost unbearable for me. I was emotionally and mentally exhausted already but an added sucker punch knocked me out cold. My body couldn’t handle it and stress induced fibromyalgia became the diagnoses on top of already being hypothyroid and on medication for migraines. Not only all of that but there were also a few unexpected people who decided that was the perfect time to turn their backs and kick me while I was down. I don’t say all of this for pity as it has all made me into the person I am today – and I love this person (who will always be growing and forgiving and staying authentic). I share my struggles so others will see that even though you may experience a season in your life that leaves you feeling broken, pain ridden and alone, please do not give up. As hard as it is to go and grow through struggle, beauty will come (Romans 8:18). Hold desperately to your Faith. Don’t rush healing. Don’t side-step the pain. Feel it, process it, pray over it, take parts from it that help you see which bridges need rebuilding and which bridges need burning and then let it go and give it to God. As the saying goes, you can’t get to the mountain top without the valley below. Just hold on and embrace the journey.
Looking forward to 2020, the following are some goals we’ve established for JBPD, LLC.:
- themed sessions (baseball/softball, American flag, LEO/blue line flag, carnival lights)
- art shows
- focus more on architectural details / landscape / macro images for the online fine art gallery
- other exciting things up my sleeve 😉
I’m really excited about what we have planned for the coming year and I can’t wait to share the details with you. But first, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! 🙂
All my love,
~JB
