Mama Fisher contacted me when I held the MOPS Fundraiser. She wanted to get some images of the kids to put on her Christmas cards for the year and help out a great non-profit.
The Fisher Family has been amazing at getting their portraits taken every year (and I love this time with them!!). Mama Fisher always makes it happen and makes it a priority. I am so incredibly inspired by this. Kids grow fast and each year they change. By getting family portraits done every year it documents these precious kids and envelopes the family’s personality during that season. It’s so important to capture this moment in time with your fam because things can change so fast.
I am so inspired by the Fisher Family, and any one of you Mama’s out there, who makes family portraits a priority each and every year. It’s so easy to put it off another year because the timing isn’t right or other things that need funding or I want to lose those last 10 pounds first, but the reality is you’ll never get this moment back with your family. And the older the kids get the faster the years fly by – whether we notice it or not.
You would think having a photographer in the family we would be taking family portraits all the time. Well, that’s not the case. The last family session we had was in 2013 (and that was with the self timer!) I am just like you in that if I don’t schedule it, it will not happen. One of my 2016 New Years Resolutions (it’s not too early to start this list, is it?) is to be like Mama Fisher in making family portraits a priority. I WILL get this done every year – my kiddos are growing up too fast not to – regardless of my excuses.
Thank you, Mama Fisher, for being an example and inspiration.
