And with May coming around so quickly I would like to include a reminder that Mother’s Day is in 2 days! This is the time to pick up those thoughtful gifts for the Mother in your life.
Many years ago prior to marriage and kids and before there was an “official” day for it, a co-worker had told me about his family celebrating ‘Daughter’s Day’ and ‘Son’s Day’ on the Sunday after ‘Mother’s Day’ and ‘Father’s Day’. I just loved that idea and vowed to celebrate those special days when I had children of my own.
Fast forward several years and it became an annual tradition. My kids receive gifts just like Ma & Pa Days and they enjoy choosing what they want to do to celebrate.
I have a few recommendations at this post, or check out the links below for a few other favorites that would be great for Mothers Day or for (an older) Daughter’s Day in case you need some ideas.
I do want to recognize those of you who are without your Mother, or are estranged from your Mother, or never knew your Mother. I am thinking of you with love. Regardless of what category you are in, take a moment to honor the journey you’ve had to walk without them by your side. The self-bravery for moving forward and taking chances in this world without the support of the person who gave you life. It takes a lot of courage and I’m so proud of you for stepping into your journey being the best version of YOU. ♥
