Pin Haul | Weekly Inspiration and Reflection | Quit Pulling the Rubber Band | 3/11/2022

Hello and happy Friday, Friends!

Here in the Kansas City area we received quite the snowfall yesterday so it is beautiful. Cold, but beautiful.

This week I’ve had it on my heart to offer you a word.

It came to me the weekend of the IF:Gathering conference I attended virtually last weekend.

God showed me that sometimes life gets hard for us because we refuse to relinquish control.

He showed me a rubber band pulled tight in opposite directions.

God is standing firm and stationary on one side, but we are pulling in the opposite direction. Struggling. Fighting for control. To do things our way.

To not give up the one thing done in secret we know goes against our integrity.

To not lay an offense/grievance down at the feet of Jesus.

To allow an addiction to dictate our every move.

To build walls around our heart because it gives the false sense of security.

To stay small and people please because we long so much for someone to appreciate us.

To wear the mask of perfection to hide our insecurities.

To allow someone to continuously damage our heart and mind because we don’t want to face the truth of the situation.

To hold on so tightly to that which hurts us.

It could be that we feel so much internal struggle because we are clawing to hold on to the thing that stretches us away from God. Away from the deep soulful peace and contentment that only He can provide.

We claim these struggles as our security blanket and wrap them so tightly around us that we lose sight of the only One who gives ultimate rest.

We hold on to the thing because it’s more comforting and easier to stake claim in it than to rumble through healing it or letting it go.

Turn towards Him. Release the grip on the thing that is pulling you your attention away from the source of peace.

We weren’t meant to hold on to our burdens.

There is freedom in letting them go.

No matter what you are facing today or how far you’ve run from God, just release the grip on what you’re struggling with and turn towards Him.

God does promise eventual victory. He is constant and stationary and always ready to catch you.

I’m thinking of you today, Friend.

Big hugs to you, Friends. Hope you have an amazing St. Patrick’s weekend/week full of all things green.

♥ ~JB

This song has been on my heart since I heard it at the IF:Gathering conference. I created a print with one of my favorite images from Pikes Peak in Colorado. The print, and it’s listing, is below. (Highlands (Song of Ascent) by Hillsong United.

This looks so tasty!

To continuously grow and evolve takes a lot of courage. It’s hard to sort through your own stuff. Most people want to blame, project or sweep under the metaphorical rug to not have to look within. Freedom is found in working through the hard feelings, wounds and trauma, so you won’t pass them on to the next generation. #healyourself

YES!!! When people are in pain the best thing to do is to BE THERE and support them. Don’t fix. Don’t downgrade their situation. Don’t tell them others have it worse. And for the LOVE do NOT make it about you. I am so grateful for those that sat with me in my sufferings and held me close and were active in loving me. #holdingspaceequalslove #bethelove
