Many of you have read from THIS POST and other sprinkles here and there regarding my health struggles.
At the end of 2020 I felt a nudge to step back from the JB Photo and Design business. In particular, conducting portrait sessions.
Although I am so thoroughly grateful for each and every one of you who requested a portrait session, they take a toll on my body and I’m usually in a lot of pain the following few days.
The mini session days that include multiple back to back sessions usually take me a few weeks to recoup.
(If you’ve never held a session with me I am usually climbing and squatting and bending and running…I’m sure it’s pretty funny to watch.)
2021 came and I just didn’t have the heart to close the business so I thought I would PIVOT the business – said in my best Ross voice from the tv show FRIENDS.
I held a significantly reduced amount of sessions and didn’t hold multiple sessions in one day (mini session days). It worked out fine but I really disliked turning people away due to limited availability.
((I shared this video on social media and am including here just in case you’re not familiar with my PIVOT reference.))
It’s now 2022 and I feel like it’s time to PIVOT once again.
The past few months I’ve felt a push to move the business in a different direction and focus.
A direction that could still fall under the JBPD entity.
A direction that would allow me to continue using the creative side of my brain.
A direction that would still enable me to connect with clients and meet new friends.
A direction that would push for me to step out of my comfort zone.
And, a direction that would allow me to focus on my health when needed but also help provide for my family.
It took me ample time and lots of prayer to figure out what exactly that meant, but this is the direction I feel being led to::
We will be shifting the business from Photography (primary) / Design (secondary) focus to a Design (primary) / Photography (secondary) focus.
What this means is the business will focus more on offering prints, apparel, print products and digital downloaded art than offering portrait sessions.
However, portrait sessions will still be offered with a very limited availability.
We are currently working to offer products on multiple platforms but for now products are offered at::
Fine art prints hosted on THIS PLATFORM.
Digital prints and apparel hosted on THIS PLATFORM.
I would love for you to check out the items at the links (or even on this post) and let me know your thoughts!
Again, thank you so much for your support. You are all amazing and I’m forever grateful for each of you.
