Pinterest-ing Pins | Weekly Inspiration and Reflection | 12/3/21

I know I keep saying this but my goodness this year has flown by so very fast.

Which leaves me thinking about 2022 and all the things happening in the Blake household. It’s going to be quite a remarkable year – one son will be graduating high school, heading off to college and turning 18, other son will be turning 21, daughter will be turning 16 and husband will be turning 50. Mom may need a vacation.

I’ve also been thinking what my word of the year will be. Some people create resolutions for the new year but I like just having one word that sums up what my goal and/or intention will be.

I had created several posts in previous years regarding my word of the year but they are still sitting in the draft folder.

Something about them just feels too personal, even though I’ve written several posts here that are incredibly personal. It’s one thing to create snippets of my health journey or even small snippets of the emotional journey I’ve had to walk, but to elaborate on my personal bumps, bruises and victories hits a little too close I guess. I get left with a huge vulnerability hangover when I post too much of my private world, so it’s easier to write about it and let it sit in the draft folder. Maybe one day I’ll post them all.

Anyway, on to this weeks inspiration and reflections. Have a wonderful week y’all. ♥

We do this quite a bit in our house – the kids love it. Take a simple dessert and elevate the ‘classy’ by putting in a fancy glass. You can use any layered style dessert (also known as a trifle) and place into glasses instead of a bowl. You can even make them up – the kids request the same one every year for Thanksgiving – layer brownie crumbles, cheesecake pudding and peanut butter cup crumbles. So very rich which is why I make it only one time per year. 🙂

My family loved this! – make sure to pat dry the chicken to remove as much moisture as possible. This is soo good!

Healing is so hard. But remaining in pain is harder. And sometimes with inter-generational trauma you may not know what you are carrying that isn’t yours to carry.
